A national-level Swimmer accused her coach of sexual harassment. The coach had been behaving indecently with that swimmer for the last six months. At last, she took a video of that coach sexually assaulting her in a hidden phone camera and she sought “Help” by bringing that video on the public.
The leaked video shows the swimmer putting the mobile on the video recorder in a room already. After that, she went to the door of the room. Then the coach entered into the room. The swimmer got an injury on her right leg. The coach came and saw the injury area first. After that, he touched the girl very indecently and tried to molest her. Her father also told the same about the coach.
The matter has already spread throughout the sports department, and everyone condemns of this incident. Central Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju informed that strict action would be taken against the accused. He tweets, “A stringent action will be taken through Sports Authority. Firstly, it’s a heinous crime of serious nature so I’ll urge the Police to take stringent penal action against the coach urgently”. He also directed the Swimming Federation of India not to give him a job anywhere in the country.
After the video of molestation goes viral on social media, Surjit Gangopadhyay is fired.
I've taken a strong view of the incident. The Goa Swimming Association has terminated the contract of coach Surajit Ganguly. I'm asking the Swimming Federation of India to ensure that this coach is not employed anywhere in India. This applies to all Federations & disciplines. https://t.co/q6H1ixZVsi
