Though it becomes a debate about whether Aadhaar Card (Adhar card) is a credential of Indian citizenship or not, nowadays, it is mandatory for the individuals including children to have this. Not only that, the importance of Aadhaar is increasing day by day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the initiative with a view to transforming India a digital country.
With the new year’s arrival, the fresh session of admission in schools for children is going on. And Aadhaar is one of a few documents that are necessary for the admission. Obviously, parents are coming up to submit applications for making Aadhaar cards for their children in a huge number.
Let’s know what are the requirements.
✅ A child below the age of 5 years can also have an Aadhaar card.
✅ It’s easily possible with the child’s birth certificate. Parents’ Aadhaar cards are the alternative documents if the child does not have a birth certificate.
✅ Biometric information is not required for making Aadhaar for a child below the age of 5 years.
✅ You have to update the biometric information after the completion of 5 years of your child.
✅ If your child is older than 5 years you need to submit a letter on the school’s letterhead.
✅ After the completion of 5 years of your child, at the age of 15, once again you have to update the biometric information.
✅ To apply Aadhaar for your child go to the nearest Post Office or Aadhaar Seva Kendra. There fill the Aadhaar enrollment form and submit the necessary documents said above.
✅ After having all the process done, you will be given an enrollment slip. There will be an enrollment number, time and date. You can track the Aadhaar card status or Aadhaar update status by name as well as Aadhaar card download with Aadhaar number along with those information.
✅ The Aadhaar will be delivered to your home within 90 days.
